Hiroshima - My Discovery

My Scholarship entry - Hiroshima - City of Peace

The Memorial Cenotaph is situated near the centre of the Peace Park; and holds all the names of those killed. The monument is designed to align with the Peace Flame and the A Bomb Dome as illustrated in my photograph. It was one of the first to be build in what was once an open field and opened in 1952. The arch shape used represents a shelter for the souls of the victims.
