Pelagia: Give a Heart To Africa, Moshi, Tanzania- For 31 year old Pelagia, attending lessons at GHTA was the only time she had ever been formally educated. The average Tanzanian makes less than $1.25 US per day which makes sending a child to school very difficult. If a family can afford to send a child to secondary school, it is usually male children who are favoured. The result? Only 5% of girls complete secondary education.
