Jungle Living
Costa Rica | Sunday, October 17, 2010 | 5 photos
I lived in the jungle in Costa Rica running a conservation project for 7 months, a magical experience. Capturing the intensity of life there wasn't easy - just the diversity in the few metres around you with every step was mind blowing. On every level from the busy leaf cutter ants to the lazing monkeys, all ecological niches were being filled.
I would love to be chosen for the scholarship as I am passionate about conservation and feel that capturing aspets of it in visual media helps to educate others about the impact man is having on the planet. By sharing photos it helps to capture the minds and hearts of the public and slowly spreads the message of why research and habitat preservation is the last chance for so may species. Education is the only way to begin to reverse the decline that our human demands have put on these precious ecosystems.
