My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

My photos were all shot on different cameras ranging from point & shoot to Digital SLR since I did not have one then. Every time I get an opportunity to go out in the field or expect unique occasion, without hesitation I would borrow a camera. People say it is important to have one’s own camera for easy handling, but I would say if one has a passion for something then the rest come second.
Last year on my way to Oxford for PG diploma in Wildlife Conservation - I become a proud owner of Sony digital shoot & point camera, the only range I could afford and yet capture new moments and landscapes. The London Eye and Tower Bridge are two of many photographs of my first camera. The London Eye was capture at 45 degree from other side of river against blue sky with patches of cloud in background so as to give landscape view, detail information and beauty. The shot of a huge war ship (Museum) apparently emerging from the Tower Bridge was taken from a tourist boat as soon as all three were aligned in straight line – it was completely rush short as I was not prepared for it. The remaining three shots were taken when I did not have my own camera. The photographs of Taktshang & Paro Dzong were shot from a different angle to include the front scenery - the idea was to show landscape view. The last photograph of mountains and pray flags illustrate the peacefulness of the place and religion.
Recently I managed to purchase the Canon 50 D with little saving I made during the study at Oxford. Now with hands on training & expert advice from a professional mentor can take me a step closer to my dream.
