Akumal

Anyone who has ever been to the Caribbean knows that the phrase “heaven on earth” is nothing further from the truth.
But where else could you feel when you are in a place standing in sand that is so white and fine as talcum powder, and where you can admire the most beautiful color scheme of turquoise in the ocean. Well, that my friends and so much more is Akumal.
Located a few kilometers from the recently super popular Playa del Carmen in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico, Akumal is an unspoiled beach, as there are many in this area, where all you can do is lean and relax. You just have to worry about the color of your tan, which by the way anyone would be jealous about, and maybe have several drinks.
In this paradise you only find a few little shacks built by the people who live there. They usually depend on their own fishing and the money they can get providing visitors with refreshments (beer) and fine seafood (fish and oysters). For chairs there are swings made from scrap wood and old ropes. What else can you ask for? Nothing, but you also get an endless pool with subtle waves and the perfect temperature named sea, where you can see fish of all colors in the crystal clear water and a curious turtle if you are lucky. Here there are many of them.
This is definitely one of the places where you feel you are dreaming and you can easily start fantasizing about finding the way to stay forever. Some have done it. They came and never left. Who quit to their hated job in an office and abandoned their routine by sleeping under the stars and wake up here every day. Where natural beauty is everything and electricity and drainage are unnecessary luxuries.
Here life, food and drinks are simple but delicious. People have little but enough. It seems that money is not worth much.
You dare to give up everything for living in an earthly paradise?
