A big friendly bearhug, and welcome to New Zealand - and we're here! It's quite cold, but clear. The city Auckland stretches out over the landscape. Mostly one-story houses. Jack (the friendly bearhugger) said that Auckland has a population of 1. million, but over an area like greater London. Only the center has hight-houses.
We're living in Elizabeth's house, with a huge garden. Elizabeth is, by the way, just now, in my parents house in Norway. We've met nice friendly people everywhere. That's what New Zealand is famous for, isn't it? The bus-driver waits for you and stops if anyone looks like they where on their way to catch the bus. Everybody says "Thank you, driver" when they go off the bus. Walking down the street in Auckland you see mostly non-european faces. Auckland has the biggest population of polenesians in the world. There are also many asian faces. Interesting. We are planning on taking a "street" picture.
Friendly neighbour Meinita takes us around and invites us in to use her internet. We went with her and some friends on a hike, of which I will tell more about later.
