My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Since buying my first Zenit-E, I have been hooked onto analogue photography. Since printing my first black and white negatives to paper and watching the image slowly emerge in the developer, I have been addicted to working in the darkroom, and use photographs as my visual memory to capture emotions and feelings, places and people.
I believe in travelling for travelling's sake: to go on a journey and while finding new places outside of oneself, to also find or create a new place within ourself. I believe in travelling for a cause: to give back to the communities, to not just see but live and do, to help out, or just to improve ourselves, live more consciously, to humbly learn and teach.
While I am a great fan of Jason Edwards' work and am amazed even by the opportunity to learn from him, I would also never miss to travel to a new place, to meet its people, to experience the life they live and create something beautiful.
I've chosen some of my analogue pictures from my walk on the Camino de Santiago in 2009, where I walked 800km in a month. They were taken with a small Russian made point-and-shoot camera, a Vilia Auto. I decided to bring only an analogue camera with me on this trip, as I wanted to make sure that I will think twice before taking a picture, and wanted to concentrate on the spiritual aspects of the journey, on my own thoughts and the people I met and places I've experienced, rather than taking photographs. I've found that the five rolls of film I've filled capture my emotions and feelings perfectly, and as well as depicting the landscape, they form a reflection of how I felt and what I've learnt during this trip.
