My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

My love of photography stems from passion, curiosity, wonder, appreciation and the desire to capture what most are too busy missing.
From the seemingly insignificant to the moments that are taken for granted and everything in between.
In my opinion I believe all of these elements inspire me, not only to take the shot initially but challenge and encourage me to improve and constantly think outside the box. My burning desire to travel is indescribable with every destination on my radar. Africa has always been at the very top of my list with the vast array savannah animals, in particular my favourite the amazing and graceful Giraffes. Not to mention the rawness, yet rich and breathtakingly beautiful landscapes which captivate me. Unfortunately my path has not led me off Australian soil...Yet!! I've excitedly tried to recreate similar situations in many zoo’s across Australia which I have thoroughly enjoyed but still yearn for the untouched version.
You could imagine, not only my enormous smile, but pure excitement when I heard of this amazing opportunity. I believe that in my photography I understand and practice the When, Where, Who, Why and with mentoring and the obvious shared passion and excitement of Jason Edwards I believe I can learn the How.
For in my photographs, they all need to tell a story...
