My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

My name is Jarna and I am an amateur photographer. I was always interested in photography right from my first film Kodak to Nikon D90. But it was my husband who taught me technical concepts like aperture and shutter speed. For me photography is a way to save all the precious memories along life's way. Though every type of photo, if taken well, is a credit to the photographer, my favorite are animal/bird photography and portraits. I really enjoy photography and would like to take it up seriously in the future.
I feel I should be chosen for this scholarship because I have the basic technical know how and an endless amount of patience which I feel is a very important requirement for a wild life photographer. I love to be out there in the wild, waiting to click just that right moment that might make history. Its a big dream but I feel that if I have a teacher like Jason Edwards, it will be a reality. I will be a dedicated student and assistant ready to listen and learn and do my best to make you proud if you choose me.
The photos I have presented were taken at the Sasan Gir Jungle in Gujarat, India. These two sisters were having a little tiff because one wanted to play and the other wanted to rest. It was really a privilege to see these magnificent beasts up close and this will forever be an unforgettable experience of my life.
