I'm sure that most of travel videos/show ocuses on destination and the culture and adventures they can find therein. In our case, we want to highlight the culture and adventure along the way, specifically inside the most popular vehicle in the Philippines, the jeepney.
Inside a jeepney is a whole new encounter. A place, or in this case a vehicle, wherein you can find a so-called micro culture that tells a lot about the Filipinos, their penchant for adventure and a sense of local pride and helpfulness.
I only participated in two international video contests. One for Asian Development Bank and another for European Union, both are finalists.
It all started as a simple dream. I just want to make and complete a good film. I gave it a try, got a hang of it, and as I continue thinking about it and doing it, it bore a purpose.
Now, filmmaking is no longer just making something visual for me. It is an art of storytelling, a medium to share ideas and experiences. I want to travel the world to look for little stories and make it known to more people.
This scholarship will help me a lot in honing my skills and give me the chance to give voice to rather unknown stories and places.
