Photography that makes an impact

Here are a few reasons I think I am a perfect candidate for this scholarship.
1. I am a US NAVY veteran and am accustomed to traveling, working long hours and putting in what it takes to get the job done.
2. I speak enough spanish to be able to get around and have small talk
3. I have a very curios heart and love to not only learn about other people but also become a part of their culture. I dont consider myself the type of tourist who is an observer but rather the type that joins in.
4. I want to be a documentary filmmaker because I want to make an impact (on a global scale)
5. I know enough about filmmaking that I think Brian will be able to give me assignments but get something good at the end of the day we can use for the video and in turn I will be able to learn more about documentary making rather than spend time learning the basics.
Being able to work with Brian will in itself give me credibility and knowledge I really need at this point in my career. Having this kind of experience will also help me in the future with more work like this. I want to work alongside philanthropic organisations filming them and telling their story.
I am a struggling filmmaker having to take whatever work I can get, by getting this scholarship it will not only build my confidence but also be a big bullet point on my Curriculum vitae.
