My Scholarship entry - New Orleans: A City of Character

I am certainly a novice when it comes to telling a story through my visual work, but I have always been a story teller. I was that kid with a chatty mouth and a giant imagination. I took my first photography class in high school and it opened a whole new world for me. I then spent the next four years focused on acting and how to master the art of oral and physical storytelling. I never forgot the endless discovery and joy I found in photography. In the past year or so, that passion has grown so strong that it has surpassed even my passion in acting. It has changed a lot about my life. I am happy that I was given the chance to study in another artist’s medium, because it taught me the skills of what it takes to be an artistic craftsman. It gave me the foundation of hard work, self-determination, careful observation, passion for learning and patience. Along with my passion for photography, a yearning for travel has also grown and hopefully with learning more about what is inside in my photographer craftsman’s tool kit I can better share my stories.
