Mamba hypercoaster in Kansas City

Mamba
It all started with a navy blue Volkswagen Jetta conquering a highway. We were just on our way to Kansas City when animal-shaped clouds started following us. They were definitely hinting at something. But it wasn’t my concern at that point because I was too preoccupied with the thoughts of how to endure the silence we were struggling with.
Anyway the cloud above the rear window I was staring through changed shapes persistently every ten seconds. And because the trip to Kansas was a bit long I’d already seen tones of animals, dozens of plants and some silly things like a tripod table or broken sun glasses. I knew I was about to experience something that would certainly steal my breath for ages… or maybe just a moment.
Why else go to Kansas? Have you ever heard about roller coasters? Yes, those things that make you feel like a kid. That was exactly what we had planned so eventually we occupied “The Worlds of Fun” parking lot. It was me, my brother, his friend and a girl who created all the awkward silence.
It took us a brief moment before we got lost in the world of steel having crazy zigzag and swirling rides all over again. Five hours of overcoming the height passed as a NASA rocket. It only left a feeling that flying was good however the moment came when a thought of turning upside down made me feel sick.
I was almost ready to quit my extreme flying experiences when I saw it… Like a big snake having a nap horizontally frozen. It seemed so smooth and huge. I had to ride it or I’d die. A new wave of excitement rose in my chest reaching its highest point with the train reaching for a 205 foot drop. How could I ever think of that metal Mamba being in any way smooth or safe? A gradual slope I once saw appeared to be nothing else but a falling straight into the arms of fear ready to hug me tight.
As the train moved slightly and then started its way into nothingness I let my loudest scream out and finally surrendered to the might of speed. A tremendous feeling of happiness filled me up. I even noticed a foggy zoo above me when we reached another drop again. So by the end of a ride I wished those three minutes had never ended.
I finally got the clouds’ hint after the first raindrops had bounced off a blue metal and suddenly I was captured by a seat belt again. It was 3 more hours of awkward silence ahead. It was absolutely worth it but if anything I wanted to step out into the rain and let it make me feel grounded before anything else had done.
