Long walk on the beach is in fact magical!

The first time I stepped onto the soft sand at the Goa beach it was every bit as cheesy as all the movies would have you believe. I couldn't imagine anything as perfect as the blanket of stars above me and the silver aura of the moonlight bathing me and nothing but the ocean. It was something out of a fairy tale but without the Prince Charming rubbish. For the first time in my life I felt like I was on the set of a movie. Then again my hometown is Delhi and with anyone even remotely familiar with the summer here knows that it is in fact a sister concern of hell itself. So I suppose my standards weren't too high, since any place below the temperature of 30 degree Celsius would feel like my good karma kicking in. Although it would be unfair to define the beauty of the beach in relative terms. Blues sounded so much better...of course listening "Summertime"played live near the beach in the moonlight sounds much better than listening to it in a crowded train dreading the vicious week at work lying ahead of you. And this was just my first day.
I had five more days ahead of me in that out of the world hut that was more ventilated than I would have liked (because of the thatch) but I'm not complaining. The rest of my days were spent doing cliched tourist stuff including going around clicking photos of all the gorgeous churches. Seriously guys, Goa is much more than a party spot that you use as an excuse to get wasted. After that short sermon we come back to how much fun the beach was. It was something out of a fairy tale... wait I said that already! So you get the point of how beautiful the place was. Although I suggest going to North Goa more than South, since the latter is more littered with idiots crowding the beach and trying to get their next profile picture for Facebook. Although missing out on that would not be advisable either. Spare a day but don't shack up there.
And yes, it is one of those places that you can go again and again and rejuvenate your soul. For me it was quite a change from looking at bottle neck traffic because a cow decided the middle of the road was a nice place to just introspect. no judgement!
