My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

It was an easter weekend, when I decided to visit the north of Chile. My Journey started at Quebrada de Humahuaca, in the northwest Argentina. Reaching 4500 mt high, Susques was waiting with a lovely earthy architecture. Besides that, people managed it to bring color to the landscape (picture 1), even on burial grounds. Few km towards, the border was announcing the entrance to Atacama´s desert. Pastel colored mountains were constantly touched by wind´s hand (picture 2), and offering a wide palette of colors.
Bearing extreme temperatures and strong winds had its award... the quiet city of Iquique...laying on the Pacific´s shore; willing to show up how is now growing gracefully and becoming the ideal home for thousands of new souls, that are settling down on this warm heart .
Happy children were all around, spreading their freshness and spontaneity (picture 3). These children will be the foundations of a new cosmopolitan city (picture 4), the one that is invaded by thousands of migratory souls every summer.
Back in Argentina, a gorgeous storm took place over the salt fields; and the result was a great combination of water, light and clouds. Thanks to Pachamama (earth mother) for such a great experience.
I´m a chemical engineer living in Jujuy, Argentina. I have discovered my passion for photography few years ago. I have tried to learn as much as possible, but the isolation from big cities, make it hard.
Beyond the destination of the scholarship, I´m so excited about the idea of learning from a professional, and experiencing nature at the same time.
With the knowledge acquired, I guess I will be able to transfer my passion for traveling, photography and respect for nature through my images. The most important thing is that this will be a life experience.
