The Timber Rattlesnake, a rare visitor, could not use its typical camouflage to hide on the garden’s pristine grass. I took a few minutes to photograph him at eye level before he hid in a water drain directly behind me. Since Timber Rattlesnakes are venomous, the snake later was safely escorted by animal control to a home away from the busy garden.
