Walking on the rocks that create the terraces' steps - tourists traverse the steep steps and slim paths. A different experience from this distant view. from afar. It is also a challenge to the legs, given the distance and incline. But it is easy work to local Ifugaos who walk the paths daily to work on their rice fields.

Signage detail the history of the Ifugao rice terraces, but a sign for a job opening also shows the financial opportunities for such areas frequented by tourists. Though tourism creates business opportunities, the practices of the old traditions might not be of interest to the young locals. Restaurant cooks and waiters, tour guides, or even souvenir vendors have more appeal.

beautiful locations always call to tourists, and tourists will always needs lodgings and accommodations, even in the most rural areas. The inn is one of many that have sprung up to accommodate tourists on the steep mountainside. But it has allowed the community to develop from basic huts made of wood to houses and buildings of concrete and steel.
