About joyousworld
Media and art in the 21st century oozes heartbreak and despair. While there is truth to be found in exposing corruption and greed, breed like flies in modern society, art inspiring hope and beauty is being pushed to the margins as weak and unimportant.
There is so much joy and love to be found in the world, unexpectedly in places where the people and the land should be by all accounts, downtrodden and hopeless. With my photography I wish to inspire and uplift people; give them a weapon to use against despair. I want to show joy, compassion and love, give a sense of awe and serenity. Whether it’s landscapes or people; around the world or in Australia, this is the one sense I try to convey in all my images. None of my images are set up; they are all taken in the moment, rain or shine and convey a joy of life.
My aim is to cross boundaries and convince others to see the world through their eyes rather than their computer. To hear more than the music from their mp3 player and to gather a better understanding of cultures than the stereotypes we are fed by the media.
