My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Dear Editors and Judges,
I am Jonathan, from Jakarta, Indonesia. I am 24 now, self employed, and a big photography enthusiast. The most interesting part in photography for me is telling stories, about places, events, and most importantly, people. Human activities always catch my interest - meeting people and the great experience they share along the way are as awesome, if not more, than photography itself.
National Geographic Magazine played an important role in my photography, especially since I found out that your very own Steve McCurry shot with a Nikon FM2, I bought the camera and fell in love instantly. In fact, the images I present here were shot with an FM2, just my way to thank and honor NGM, and Steve. Photos in your magazine always tell stories, and that's what most important to me, instead of technical aspects of photography.
I am comfortable working with many different cameras, from smartphone cameras to 1950's twin lens reflex cameras, so this helps me in at least two ways: I can work around my tool's limitation, and I can choose a proper tool for a given job.
I thank you for reading and viewing, this will be an absolutely awesome experience for me.
Jonathan
