My Scholarship entry - Seeing the world through other eyes

Back before I started any travel and stayed on my safe area, I figured out myself how I am viewed by others by thinking about how I view myself ; it leads into a syndrom I’d rather called egocentric bias. That what makes me locked inside my own heads. During that not-open-minded phases, I met people who travel a lot on their life and they told me to get out of the box. It shocked me as I already had a stack of mind that my perspective is the right one among the other people. As I dare myself to see what’s our there and challenge myself to gain more ideas about what this world could offer me; I found it as an amazing ideas to be out there. Not only the idea to set myself free from the bound I’ve made, but to think more abstract. The biggest adventure I’ve ever made was to hitchike to the eastern part of Indonesia, Sumbawa island. Planned on going there solo to have some deep conversation between me and myself, I found it awkward myself to notice that I met so many people beyond my expectations and they help me to think differently, indeed. One of them was a man with his family who offers me a place to stay while I was stuck in the middle of the road at late night. Barely dare myself to politely ask them a spot to lay down overnight before headed on the next morning. They opened their house directly and didn’t ask much even they kept trying to figure out what I was doing out there. The next morning, had some talk with the man and looked on his backyard about how they process gold –I went to an island where you can dig golds everywhere. I saw hopes, hopes of this man that all he does is to give the best to his family. That moment, I thought that I was too naive to think that I might be the only person that have the worst problem, but I was wrong. It’s not about who has the worst or the most simple problem, it’s more about the way we should live for what we holding on. So it might be true that people travel out there to help them to see the world through the other's eyes
