The Annual Melbourne Punk Pub Crawl

Your Backyard - The Annual Melbourne Punk Pub Crawl

AUSTRALIA | Sunday, 3 November 2013 | Views [740] | Scholarship Entry

What is portrayed & celebrated in this short film are the deep connections that are made between unique individuals. The Melbourne punk scene is alive and well; it's a community that resonates, redefines culture, self-expression, aesthetics & social commentary. This interlude provides a snapshot into peoples’ lives as we discover what influences and inspires them. A generation ago, this was my personal experience & I’m intrigued by the ongoing passion and commitment to this distinctive world that is kept alive by today’s youth.
I am an emerging filmmaker and have produced 3 short films & 6 music & promotional videos. My first short film, ELEVATOR, was shortlisted for Tropfest NY 2012, winning a prize for Best Actress. Filmmaking to me is about connecting with people and sharing stories, folklore and history. As a travel filmmaker I would like to delve into the revealing, colorful stories of everyday people that trigger memory, response and emotion.
Production of the New Orleans travel videos would promote my work and expose me to a broader audience. This scholarship will enable me to establish new connections, develop my practical skills & carve out a diverse career in filmmaking.
