The story behind this recipe
I went on to explore some places in summers of 2014 located in the Northern Pakistan. I spent whole day on bus and reached the place called Astore. I could not see the place as I just wanted to have some rest because I was hell tired and want to have some rest. I did not know the views and scenes around me because I reached at night and it was dark. All I can see is some lights at some areas which provided me the idea that it is mountainous area. I reach around 11 PM at night. I was hungry and I didn’t have the energy to make some food for myself. I went on to hotel and eat there and slept. Next day, I saw some beautiful scenic views and it was breathtaking. I had a plan to explore Deosai National Park in Northern Pakistan. The National park is located on the Deosai Plains of the Kashmir region. The word Deosai means the “Land of Giants” and has an elevation of 13,000 feet (Worldfortravel.com).

To visit this park we had to stay in camps for a day. We five friends took some things for cooking to make “Chicken Cheese Stuffed Naan”, which is one of the delicious food dishes of Pakistan. We took cylinder and all those ingredients with us in a jeep. We went on a journey for around 3 and half hours. We got to a place where there is a place for camping (in the middle of Deosai National Park). The camping location was set up by the authority with some security. As there are bears and other animals are there, we are only allowed to do camping at the prescribed place. The location was great. There are huge plains all around us. The cool wind was blowing. The temperature went down a bit and we felt cold. We build up our camp and start making this cheese naan. It was so great everybody was waiting for the delicious cheese naan. It smells so good. One of my friend stated, “I can’t wait to eat this naan”.

It was evening now and it is ready to serve. It took only 30 minutes in total to make a cheese naan. It was quick and delicious. Everybody was happy eating it. It was very heavy. We eat this at evening and nobody felt hungry before morning next day. We eat it and there was a lot of naan that were made. We gave some to the people around us (who were staying with us) in nearby camps.

After that we all slept and next morning we again had those naan. Everybody was happy and then after breakfast, we went on to explore Deosai plains. The guy took us on a jeep so that we could able to see bears. We roam for about two and half hours. Finally, we got able to see one bear from quite far. We wanted to go nearer but driver stopped us that it would be dangerous. At around afternoon we again eat the Naan which we made in the breakfast. After some rest we went from that place and reached Skardu after 3 hours of journey.

Skardu is a developed city and we reached to the hotel to stay. We found some good hotel. There we stayed and relaxed. For dinner, we went to the restaurant and surprised to see the cheese naan in their menu too. We order some other dishes along with Cheese Naan.

Next morning, we started our journey back to the place where we first arrived at Astore. We came back in the evening. After a night rest there, we started our journey back to our homes. The trip was great and we found many new places. We were lucky to see the sights of bear. Next year, surely we will stay longer to see more sights.
