My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

I have always loved photography and my camera has accompanied me on many adventures. I volunteered as photographer at my college in Canada and had many photographic opportunities from wildlife and indigenous ceremonies to big international dance shows.

My inter-cultural and photojournalistic skills were put to the test on a trip to Tunisia: Not being able to communicate with the people in the frame taught me to rely on photography alone for storytelling.

I love exploring other cultures with my camera, to capture and eternalize stories that would otherwise have gone unseen. I wish to use photography as a mean to share people’s stories and cultures with the global community and thus facilitate cross cultural understanding

In short, I can contribute with a positive mind, a can-do attitude, intercultural knowledge, a passion for the world and photography, extensive photographic knowledge and skills.

I hope to gain an amazing and challenging experience with Jason, a chance to evolve as a photographer and person, to enhance my own photography style. Finally, I hope to meet some fascinating people in Oman while exploring new cultures.
