How to break a language barrier. keep it simple stupid

About josiah

Imagine Bear Grylls meets Malcolm Muggeridge. Done. Possibly an exaggeration but for the sake of argument lets’s mark that under aspirations and move on. I like to travel because I like to know. It’s in my nature, I always have to know how and why things are the way they are. I need to look under the hood before I’m over it.

I was recently in a small Palestinian restaurant in my home town in Alberta eating a Donair and drinking a coffee. It was a dark roast made by a dark man, that just felt right. A Bolivian couple came in and sat near me. To my surprise they asked me if I was a traveler. I still don’t know why they assumed that, how did they figure it out? Apart from my tattoo that says, ‘Traveler’ in six languages I thought that was quite perceptive. I had no backpack or books or conspicuous items on me that I remember. Evidently the transient life style is imprinted on me.
