My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

Australia | Monday, January 14, 2013 | 5 photos

I have spent years dreaming of becoming a National Geographic photographer. I have been heavily influenced by the captivating images National Geographic offers to their audience. Both of my parents are keen travelers and growing up there has always been a National Geographic magazine on our coffee table. I would flick through the pages with wide eyes and dream about the adventure the photographer must have endured and the joy they felt when capturing a rare bird or a beautiful landscape on film. I have been capturing photographs for almost ten years. In 2009 I enrolled in a photo-imagery course at the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE and graduated with a distinction. I recently won the Chanel Country photography competition and my work can now be seen in their calendar. I enjoy capturing moments in time, knowing people enjoy my photography, and the different impacts and effects my imagery has on the viewer. You can lose yourself in your own imagination and make that imaginary image a photograph for all to see. I thoroughly enjoy new experiences as I am always looking to learn more about photography and different cultures. I believe all photographs can tell a story.
