    Autumn Festival Hoi An

    Enjoying Hoi An, Suong and her family are looking after us well. Tonight is the Autumn Festival, although I'm not sure exactly what it is for, the full moon also plays a part. The children here put dragon costumes on, ie one child the head and another the tail, whilst a tribe of children follow, and drums are played. They travel in groups through all the local businesses, and small amounts of money are given, which the dragon 'swallows'. Not sure my description is adequate, but apparently, tonight this spectacle will be in full swing. There is an air of excitement in the town, and we feel lucky to be here. We have already come across some early starters, and I have a feeling it will be a colourful, lively and noisy night. Apart from this, we have treated ourselves to new mobile phones, LG touchscreens, pretty swish! We are eating well, though luckily the family have realised our capacity. Ian is well and his health restored, so we are all happy and healthy. Caught up with Ron and his wife again, which has been nice. Love to all! xxxx

    Hi Jo,Its great to read your journal,what a wonderful time you are having,sounds like you are eating very well , when you come back to work you will roll in the door !! Talk about work , very short staffed at times , alot of sick leave ,full all the time,moral is poor at the moment . Ronnie has left to go to Qld, Sally Anne left on Monday to NZ , and John has not been well, has a very painful swollen foot been off sick last three weeks ,spoke to him tonight and he is resigning as from Thursday,will take a months long service leave then finish.Might come back and do some casual nights if his health is ok.No other news,I'm off to QLD in three weeks counting the days off. Well must get back to work , keep well and safe and enjoy the rest of your holiday. If you see Ron again say hi from me . Cheers Chris
