Lazy day in Saigon

Yesterday the girls spent time shopping for trinkets for their friends and enjoyed themselves. We all treated ourselves to a trip to the hairdresser, Billi had a trim and her hair straightened and Hayley had a colour and a wax. Both had their fingernails painted. We continue to eat really well, I had an awesome mango pancake with chocolate sauce and ice-cream, so diet going well. Had dinner at the Bi Saigon, which continues to serve tasty fare at a great price, 10 aussie dollars feeds the three of us well. We went to The Pub, a popular haunt of the expat teaching fraternity and took part in the quiz night. Also vodka with a mixer is only a dollar on Tuesdays, so value. Got pretty merry, came second last in the quiz, but better than the previous year when we came last. Billi really wanted a night on the town before going home so we carried on to a night club, called Lush. Lots of laser lights and funky beats. The place was packed with both westerners and vietnamese, and the girls had a good dance. Dragged them away around two, both were staggering but happy. I'm getting to old for this! There is major construction going on next to our hotel, and they worked throughout the night. I was woken this morning by a pneumatic drill that I swear was only centimeters away on the other side of the wall. Hayley again proving she can sleep through anything! (probably still drunk, ha ha) Today we were going to a cultural and amusement park which sounds like a fun mix, but hangovers may delay this till tomorrow. I'm off for a coffee and fruit salad for breaky, yum! The mango's are awesome! I love just sitting at any of the multiple eateries and people watching, its never boring watching the way of life here, and there are always numerous street sellers approaching you to by their wares, books, hammocks, watches, fans, fake designer purses, sunglasses, fruit, dried squid......the list goes on... its fun to banter! No word from Ian as yet, but hopefully he is in transit. Love to all at home!
