Looking at the magnificent Okonto jungle in Arochukwu housing the temple, Ibini Ukpabi ( temple complex of Amadioha ), the dreadness in it natural calmness speak volume of its spiritual potency

The temple complex itself, rising in the middle of Okonto jungle, looked like none I'd seen before.A natural architectural masterclass and the cave look every inch spiritual. With greeny grass, one need to be extra-carefull of reptiles

Normally, i didn't think twice about leaving my shoes outside and entering with my back as the custom demand-but today, I was just remoted

The enterance was gloomily and supported with light from the sunrise, with no paintings or effigy, just a normal cave, I began to question myself on what a spiritual centre should be like. The air reverberated with voices and muffled thuds.i stood still, squinting curiously as people started trooping to the temple. Ahead was a woman sprawled on her side, her hips thrusting violently, her eyes jumping back in their socket as if she was having an agonizing orgasms. When a man draw nearer to hold her still, she tried to bite his arm. Possessed by an evil spirit called ogbanje ( according to beliefs, because of her beauty)

Eyes watering from clouds of thick smoke, I made out the woman sitting cross-legged on the floor, her head and shoulder shaking hard, her face nearly hidden behind a tangle of black hair. Men and women squatted close around her, stroking her and speaking urgently to the ogbanje - ` get out! Leave her! '

The woman's lips curled back; the ogbanje screeched through her mouth : ` you people get away! Or I will eat you!'

Going over to another alter, Behold was a long metal pipe christened long juju by the British colonial masters. Behind the metal was the chief priest in an all-white attire.Fowls were collected by the servants and slaughtered. With the blood sprinkled at the base of the metal, while the body thrown into a furnace. Plumes of sickly smoke gushed up from the coals.the woman was pushed forward, mouth forced open as she tried to eat the smoke rendered holy by the priest.

The Ikoro was beaten heavily and all bowed down, I heard a voice not loudable with no meaning to my ear speaking a unique language and at the end all started hailing and praising Amadioha ( god of thunder )

The woman was sent to another section of the cave where a harmless stream dancing the beat of nature was situated

But the voice, who was that.Come and find out
