Touch of autumn - My Photo scholarship 2011 entry

United Kingdom | Monday, October 3, 2011 | 5 photos

I feel that photography is the way in which I can liberate the often overwhelming steams of ideas that flow through my heart and constantly tingle at the back of my head. It has always been an integral part of me and has defined and left a strong mark in my character and personality through different stages of my life.
I found my first camera, an old Cannon in disuse, in our attic. A photography course for beginners taught me how to use it and since then, photography has been an important and devotional part of my life. Some of my pictures have been in display in art exhibitions in the Baltics including Finland and Estonia.
In my images I try to capture as much a possible of the feeling and smell that I experienced at the time, so that I could go back to the same places over and over again.

In my pictures I wanted to express the beauty of British autumn. Most of us don’t consider autumn to be the most beautiful season of the year. Through these images I wanted to express why I enjoy this season. Regardless of it’s gloom it can still be fragile and delicate. It took me a couple of days of waking up very early until I was blessed with this perfect fog.

I haven’t had a chance to experience wild photography, but I am prepared to dedicate the full weight of my heart and soul as well as every heartbeat of passion and brain impulse of creativity in me for that opportunity.
