My Review of Mexico's Copper Canyon

MEXICO | Tuesday, 5 February 2013 | Views [223]

A few weeks ago I decided to go traveling around Mexico and I chose to start exploring at the biggest Mexican canyons found in north america. The Copper Canyon is actually amost 5 times larger than the Grand Canyon. Hiking trips in the Copper Canyon have different levels of difficulty and various other activities available in Copper Canyon consist of wildlife viewing and river cruises.

The highlights of my trip:

The beautiful El Fuerte has gorgeous Spanish architecture complete with cobblestone streets. The town has nice restaurants and it's a great place to spend some time.

Divisadero offers stunning views of the majestic Copper Canyon, the train stops here for a little while.  It's a great chance to check out the picturesque views of the canyon.

The small town of Creel is located on the rims of Copper Canyon, and there are numerous incredibly good places to spend a night.

Chihuahua is popular for the beautiful Pancho Villa. Now, travelers use Chihuahua as a gateway into the Copper Canyon.
The interesting Taramuhara Indians are one of the largest Native communities, these indians relocated into the Copper Canyon hundred years ago to avoid working in the local silver mines.

My time in the Copper Canyon was amazing and I would recommend it to anyone.
