This was our worst day weatherwise. We took a ferry in the rain and mist to Bellagio, a touristy village at the tip of the peninsular protruding into Lake Como, which forms the lake into its characteristic upside down Y shape. The lake became quite choppy as we neared the place where the waters meet, and the wind became quite strong. After landing the rain continued and we wandered rather disconsolately around the town, trying to escape the crowds and the battering winds. The waves were splashing high at the end of the promenade over the water, making it a soaking walk. We enjoyed sheltering and looking round in the ancient church, then had a pizza lunch at a restaurant near the old town wall, under large colourful unbrellas.
