These kids harassed visitors to the caves, trying to get them to buy a caged bird to release. I asked them if I could take a photo and they happily posed. But a few moments later,they demanded money for the photo. I gave them peanuts.
I'm still struggling with the idea of helping these impoverished villagers by giving them what to me is so little money. But if foreigners give them money, does this promote a begging lifestyle?
