I have a deep rooted love of travel, adventure and photgraphy. I took a year to backpack through southeast Asia and Australia in 2007 and not only discovered and enjoyed other cultures, I discovered myself. I saw some of the most awful and some of the most beautiful things I have ever seen which opened my eyes and allowed me to find me, find out what was important in my life and what wasn't. After two extremely painful years of consecutive loss, I feel I need to get out and see the world again. I am at a crossroads in my life and an opportunity to participate in this scholarship would allow me to follow a dream of travel and photography as a potential careers path. I would love the chance to be a part of such a great opportunity, not just to experience something I have been dreaming of since I was a kid but to participate in something extraordinary.
