So I officially just booked my flight and purchased travelers insurance for a trip to Costa Rica and Panama with VIDA. I will be performing cat and dog surgeries in field clinics, assisting with large animals surgeries, and hopefully getting do some work with sloths! When not working, I'll be meeting other vet students from around the world, staying with homestay families, going on amazing adventures, going out into the communities, and really immersing myself in the culture.
I've never done anything like this before, but I really feel like this will me an amazing experience for me. So excited!
So, I'll keep this journal as I get ready for my trip and hopefully once I get there, depending on access to the internet...if none, I'll just upload a bunch of journal entries after the fact. :)
