My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Jillyann Burns, I am a lover for all things different and exciting. Travel, adventure, and photography are in my blood. Currently, I am studying Photojournalism at Ohio University. I am a certified scuba diver, wakeboarder, and amateur photographer. I have travelled to Peru, Barbados, and Mexico, as well as various places in the United States. In Peru, I ventured about the capital city Lima, I walked between the walls of Machu Picchu, and swam in the rivers of the Amazon. That experience has left me hungry to find new adventures in new places, and document it along the way. I should be chosen because I am an excellent traveller and very curious to learn more about the world. Also, I would love the chance to be mentored by Jason Edwards and increase my skill in photography. One day, I wish to find myself traveling the world in the name of showing the beauty of places, people, and things to those who don't have the ability themselves. I want to be able to allow people to fall in love with places they have never been and with people they have never met. Creating astonishing photographs is the way to pull at people's heart strings and make them think outside of themselves.
