My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

This is the second time I am applying to a World Nomads Travel Photography Scholarship, and I guess you might say that I could get pretty stubborn. I am young and still hopeful that my many applications everywhere would amount to something. As an emerging and experimental photographer, I have touched many types of photography, but I have to say that portraits or simply photos with people in the frame is my specialty. I believe that nothing can be more expressive than the human form - whether it is a tiny shadow amidst a breathtaking landscape or the major point of the photograph. My standard approach to travel photography is the same, since I just taught myself how to wield a camera and have not really been trained by a proper mentor. That mentor would definitely make me discover other angles and styles than those I am accustomed to. I am a fresh graduate from the University of the Philippines, and the world is my playground - so much to learn, so little time.
