My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

My name is Jeppe Løvstrøm Frederiksen. I am 32 years old and live in Copenhagen. My interest in photography started in primary school as an optional class. We learned the basics of darkroom development. This was way before digital photography was a force to be reckoned with. I was, and still am, interested in telling the story and present an image of a situation in time to the viewer. I want to see if I can capture “that special moment” when it happens in a bigger picture (no pun intended).
I am part greenlandian and visited Illulisat, Sdr. Strømfjord and Qullissat back in 1995. I was intrigued by the vast nature of Greenland and wanted to go back ever since.
I take pictures for my own sake, but I would appreciate the opportunity to learn how to tell the story and make it interesting to other people as well. I have much to learn and I see this as a once in a lifetime opportunity to do just that.
Everyone is a photographer these days, not by trade, but by interest. It has become a medium for everyone to take part of, which is truly amazing. Images are spread and shared like never before, so it would be awesome to make a difference and get my name out there.
