Serenity - Golden Temple, Amritsar:
This was one of India's magically peaceful spaces tucked inside a congested city with constant honking and unrelenting sun. Grace resided in every corner: a crippled man lowering himself into the water for a holy bath with his strong arms, volunteers stirring huge steaming kettles of porridge in the 5am darkness, visitors gazing in rapt devotion at the temple and, of course, the architecture itself.
