This place rocks!

Yet again plenty has happened since my last blog. After a massive night on the town in Berlin we had the small matter of the World Cup Final. We obviously had to get amoungst it for the final so we made our way to the Fan Fest in Berlin which they had extended for the final so it was even bigger than normal. We watched the match on one of the many huge screens with plenty of people from all over the world not to mention a load of French and Italians. Sitting only five meters from me was a girl I recognised from work. (small world thing again). Even after the game the streets through Berlin were blocked off in may places with a huge amount of Italians going mental. Hanging out of cars and running around waving their flags. A bit hard to take after they had knocked us out but at least we can say we were knocked out by the winners.

After Berlin we spent a couple of nights in Hamburg, which is an industrial port city, we flew to Zurich and jumped on a train straight to Interlaken. I had heard the train ride was one of the best in the world and the people who say it are not wrong. It is easily the best scenary I have ever seen. Massive lakes with huge mountains rising from the banks on either side and little villages dotted along the banks. The first day in Interlaken we caught the many trains, you have to take three, to the Top of Europe - the Jungfraujoch. It was again some of the most amazing sites I have ever seen. It was at about 3450 meters above sea level and in the snow. You can go outside the viewing areas and ski or snowboard or just walk around a bit. It actually snowed while we were there!

Today we went Canyoning in a canyon not far from Lucerne. It was the best fun. We were jumping off rocks into pools of water about 9 meters below. Abseling down waterfalls and flying down some of the fastest and longest water slides in Europe. One of the slides shot you out at about 35 miles per hour according to our guide. I think tomorrow we are just going to hire mountain bikes and go for a ride and take some more spectacular photos which I will send out soon.

Just a side note. One thing you do notice is that we somedays have no idea what day it is and actually have to ask people so we know. Your body clock also gets way out of wack from sleeping at different times of the day depending on when you have to get up the next day and how drunk you are. We are definately burning the candle at both ends at the moment. I'm going to need a holiday to recover!
