My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

One afternoon I was showing my Papa a photo series I had taken, when he said to me, Jenna, photography provides you with the chance to look at the world differently. I am still on the path to learning how to do just that.

I recently finished a degree in industrial design and in my final year was empowered by those living on the streets of Sydney to explore how design can help those in need. The more I travel and see of different communities, the more Ive realised photography is also a major catalyst of change. This has led me to combine my design and photography to bring awareness about issues to the wider community and show the positive impact after a design/strategy has been implemented. I believe awareness is one of the greatest ways to initiate change.What a great tool photography is to create this awareness and start the conversation.

Im always pointing out little things to my friends, such as the cloud formations, little flowers growing in the middle of the football field, or interesting people we pass by. Im always striving to better capture these details that surround us and be able to share, inspire and influence those stuck behind their desks to go and explore our world
