Well I just bought the GPS. I didn't get the best price in the world from Best Buys, but I didn't have the time to stuff around. The GPS looks good. Its colour, water proof, has a touch screen that can be easily worked wearing gloves. It's also got bluetooth and a music interface so I can play music from the SD card slot and transmit it to the a bluetooth headset. It also speaks directions and transmits that to headset at well. Now I need to buy a headset and get it working.
So now I am all set. No more getting lost - which is easy to do on a bike when you cannot look at a map while you are riding along.
So where to?. May as well head south and check out the Florida Keys. They look pretty cool on TV.
Its my first experience to get on the Freeways. Man are they big and is everybody moving along. I am doing 80mph and still getting passed by everybody! Well lucky I'm on the Hayabusa. It's 110mph before I'm not getting hassled by cars anymore - no problems, as I've still got 90mph up my sleeve!!! Well thats a bit fast considering the speed limit is 70. Well it looks like I can cruise around at 85-95mph, just a touch quicker than the traffic.
About 50 miles from the start of the Keys, I pull into the petrol station and delighted to see 2 follow Hayabusa pilots fuelling up. G'day guys, where you going? Keys East man, you want to join us! Awesome! Nature and Jason - absolute pleasure to meet you guys. Hopefully I can catch up with you guys again in Alabama.
The ride down is pretty boring. 130 miles of long, long straight bridges and its night time so I cant see anything but road. And then it starts raining - tropical storm style! Lucky its not cold though.
Keys West reminds me of the party life of Bali - but very very clean and hot! The pubs are awesome with live music and cold beer. I definately want to come back to visit this place again.
If you want to experience a mad party, it sounds like the Fantasy Festival is the go. Its starts next Friday. Looks like I am 1 week too early.
