Travel and photography for me have always been passions. When I'm on the road, I feel free. When I'm taking pictures, I'm fulfilled. When I'm at home, I find myself thinking about other places. Appreciation for arts and cultures of the world comes natural. I finished college with a degree in Multimedia Arts, and am now studying International Studies at the graduate level while teaching world history to high school students. I'm born curious and travel scratches an itch to gain a wider perspective of the world. Travel allows me to get out of my comfort zone, feel a bit susceptible to discomfort and danger, and in this vulnerability do I gain a sense of adventure and appreciation to new things. Going to other places gives me the fulfillment, not just because I'm able to see the sites I would normally just see in glossy magazines, but more importantly because it enables me to forge a connection with people. I believe that if I were chosen, this scholarship would allow me to experience one of the countries I look forward to visiting, and my passions in travel and photography would allow me to easily capture the beauty that Oman has to offer and share it with the rest of the world.
