My Scholarship entry - A 'place' I have visited

One night in December, surrounded by my closest friends was a conversation about the year we’ve had in a moment of reflection. A question was laid before us, ‘What would be your dream job?’ In my train of thought, I listed what I loved doing and the result of putting the two together - Travel Photographer. My response was rejected because it was deemed achievable.
Winding down in front of the TV one night, I saw the advertisement for this scholarship. I truly believed it was a sign for me to make the leap. I’ve spent the last couple of years struggling to figure out what I want to do with my life.
I might not be trained in photography but I have an innate sense of creativity, gently honed through my study in architecture. What I love most about photography is being able to focus on your surroundings in detail yet open your eyes to everything else. I get a real kick out of going through the photos I've captured, it fills me with a great sense of joy, motivating me even more.
I cannot wait to absorb all the techniques and advice this experience could provide, to further enhance my skills so that people can also start seeing what I see, from the little things to the big.
