In The Philippines, Over 35 million people live below the poverty line. Almost half of the population survives on less than $2 a day. Large proportions live in makeshift housing, without access to safe drinking water, sanitation or electricity. More than a quarter of all Filipinos are malnourished. Churches have thousands of homeless knocking on their doors every week, and charities are overwhelmed with the amount of people asking for help. Some people resort to selling their kidneys or eyes on the black market to make money. Here, for most, life is a daily struggle.
