My Photo scholarship 2010 entry
Japan | Monday, August 9, 2010 | 5 photos
Andrew Nowell is the name! I’m a 23 year old South Australian I have a camera, and an insatiable hunger to use it.
Recently I was in Japan......what a country!! For me travel is all about the people you meet. The Japanese were the polar opposite of what I thought they would be. I thought they would be rather reserved, quiet people....boy was I wrong! They were some of the most amazing, extroverted, honorable, caring, funny, happy people I have EVER met and they would go out of their way to help you. I remember rather vividly walking around lost in Yokohama, I went up and asked a very old man if he could point us in the right direction. He didn’t just tell us where to go, he ended up walking us the whole way. An hour out of his way just to get us there surely and safely. The people....WOW!!
GO TO JAPAN!
I don’t feel like I have a lot else to say, other than I hope you enjoy a few of my images from Japan (it was really hard picking just five) and that I hope whoever wins this scholarship has an amazing time, learning not only some great photography skills but also learning about one of the many beautiful cultures that are on this vast, diverse planet.
Cheers Andrew Nowell
