Being new in Australia

AUSTRALIA | Friday, 23 December 2005 | Views [357]

I have to say, when I came to Australia with my friends a while back, we were positively schocked by all the friendly people that we met everywhere, and the non-jugding attitude that our australian friends displayed when they met us. They all were so friendly and wanted to know everything about our country (they did not know much at all, generally I find it that Australians do not have too much understanding of Europe unless they actually have been there themselves).

The first things we had to get used to was the australian expressions and ways of saying things, such as the "g'day mate" and "she'll be apples". We had a lot to learn, but they were all great teachers, and now I almost sound aussie myself;) (dont ask any australian person to judge my australian qualities though)

Coming to Australia is great with the people that live here. They are all taking care of you and they are all so friendly and chatty. Do not be surprised to find yourself chatting to an aussie on the busstop for 10 minutes about your lives, it is quite normal here to pass time by chatting by the nearest person you find approachable. No skiis required:)
