My Scholarship entry - Traveling home

One could have an inherent passion for travel without much experience thereof, I have left the African continent once, and I know I will never be at peace if I do not find a way to experience the cultures of the world first hand. My love for Africa runs deep, I have traveled as much as I have been able to per motor-vehicle, driving through Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia and Namibia. I am ready for many more hours driving through African dust, and I look forward t taking to the skies to taste Italy, feel Mexico, hear Thailand and take in the colours of Holland. I aspire toward the opportunity to appreciate the multitude of cultures and natural wonders our world has to offer.
Living in the Karoo, we had to travel far to attend decent schools, every visit home felt like a journey to a place called Heart.
