My Photo scholarship 2010 entry

Worldwide | Saturday, October 9, 2010 | 5 photos

All about my Photography:

An art director by profession and a photographer by passion, here I am to tell you about all that life has been for me so far. In 1988, I was awarded degree for Bachelor of Visual Arts and started a career in designing.

However, it didn’t take me long to realize my true love, which was Photography. I also pursued a course in Basic Photography at Photographic Association of Dum Dum, Kolkata. In 1991, I realized that I could frame the most mundane of life’s activities and convert them into classy clicks for keep. Soon my talent got recognition nationally and internationally. 3rd Prize at Nikon Photo Contest International in 1992, Honour Mention from Canon Asia Pacific Photo Contest in 1994, 3 Honour Mentions from International Photography Award, Los Angeles in 2005 & 3rd Place from International Photography Award, Los Angeles in 2006. And lastly two of my entries got nomination at The Spider Award in 2008.

Children with human interest and daily routine work have been some of my favorite subjects and they are also the one that have got me much accolade and appreciation.

And today all I just wish for is an opportunity where I could convert my passion into my profession, such that I could make a living out of what is my life – Photography!

Thank You,

Sk Jan Mohammad

This is about my Photo Story:

Jama Masjid: Compassionate Witness

The Jama Masjid in Delhi. An architectural marvel, built by emperor Shah Jahan.

The Jama Masjid is always full of life. Thousands of people throng the place every day. Each one brings his own pleas and prayers, taking pains to wash first.

Someone seeks success in his work. Someone prays for his child’s recovery from illness. Someone is there in search of a fine photo subject. And someone plays in the spacious environs.

The Jama Masjid silently bears witness to everyone. Taking nothing from anyone, it only gives itself to all, for the fulfillment of all their wishes.
