An hour later, the roles would be reversed and these kids would be watching from the sidelines as the film crew shot a documentary about the Ottomans conquering the Byzantines. But for the moment, all eyes were on the Roma Gypsy boys and their football game in the shadow of the crumbling Tekfur Palace.
