We had a very busy build up to our big day, with preparing to leave NZ for our OE three days afterwards, so there was lots of packing and catching up with people to be done.
The wedding day was fantastic, we had a beautiful sunny day in Taupo and everything went perfectly. James calmed his nerves by spending the morning doing a high ropes course with friends and family, whereas us girls had spent a relaxing night at our lakefront apartment, which Sacred Waters kindly upgraded us to.
We were lucky to be married by Peter, James' step dad who did a fantastic job with conducting the ceremony. James and I were both very nervous but managed to get through our vows without stumbling!
After congratulations from the wedding attendants, photos were taken and the bridal party we taken to have photos by the lake. Was a great afternoon, until James ripped the back of his trousers by catching a wire sticking up from the limo seat, thankfully no dramas explaining this to the suit hire place!
We had very entertaining speeches and some telegrams from friends (who could not attend the day) which was very special.
Then it was time to party and say a few fond farewells, which was a very strange feeling! We had so many people help us in various ways to bring about our wedding day and we are grateful. We had a unforgettably wonderful day.
